I see what you see and feel what you feel. If you choose to wallow in sorrow and self pity that is your choice, Jong. You have my sympathy and that of millions other Indians in the country. Wanakum.

If a CEO of a company sends his office-boy out to deliver an important document and if that document had not arrived at its destination, obviously the office-boy is hauled in to explain and be punished if needs be. But this does not solve the problem. Ultimately this important document must be delivered at all costs.

Likewise, the Abdullah Ahmad Badawi as CEO of Malaysia and Prime Minister of All Malaysians(he claims to be!) must bear full responsibility of the sorely failed delivery system. No way he is unaware of things that went wrong; even a blind will find it difficult to ignore the voices of dissent, marginalised and left with crumbs thrown from under Samy Velu's table.

PM Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and his BN Government of 4 years with the biggest Cabinet force ever, has miserably failed the people of Malaysia. If they have any conscience and honor left, they must immediately resign en bloc and call for General Election before this country goes to the dogs.

I agree with you to a point, Jong but to pin the blame on Umno for the Indian problems is short of telling that MIC is part of Umno. Samy Velu and his cohorts have been too insulated in their cocoon they can no longer differentiate truth from fiction. Something akin to the "sultan syndrome" most Malay leaders are afflicted with.

The poor Indians in the estates are being marginalised and you need not require a rocket scientist to tell so. But what has Samy done? He employs gangsters to keep his followers in check and this is not something I made up but is the sad truth. He is pissed because a maverick lawyer who once sought asylum in England has beaten him to the game.

Hindraf has managed to garner International support and sympathy in a moment of brilliance which Samy had failed as MIC leader for 24 years.

Outcold,

I beg to differ. It's the BN Government led by its incompetent Prime Minister that needs removing! Not Samy Velu. He is afterall an insignificant member in the cabinet and so are the chieftians of other BN component parties - MCA, Gerakan, PPP etc etc. They are there to deliver votes and to add a little color to make up a multi- racial cabinet, that UMNO needs.

These ampu-bodeks the self-proclaimed "leaders" of Chinese, Indians, Ibans, Kadazans, Muruts etc., must take responsibility for the situation that we are in today, for not speaking up for the non-Malays at the 'bargain table'. How could they have allowed such erosion of rights of the people who put them in office? Don't they have any conscience?

Of course, I agree without a doubt that Mahathir is NOT without blame. He is the cause of the rot infact, and has left behind a legacy of corruption and abuse of power. The present leadership is not about to change things, to eradicate corruption that PM Abdullah Ahmad Badawi promised during campaigning in the last GE 2004. Yes, he has not kept his promise, but the situation suits him fine, and they can continue collecting rents, why not? We must make sure we vote them out of office. Enough!

But I see a ray of hope in UMNO - Zaid Ibrahim a human being and a very level-headed politician, the BN MP for Kota Baru. Two days ago he sprung surprises, and in not many words told off that village idiot, shape up or be shipped out! Zaid insists, protests are a 'Malaysian way' to shut up those gobloks with their rhetorics who think otherwise. Check this out:

The only way to resolve the problems of the Indians is to remove Samy Velu and his cohorts. The MIC leadership is riddled with corruption, too complacent and protected in its cocoon to be of any use to the community. Had Samy done his homework Hindraf would not have surfaced. But Samy lives in a dream world far removed from reality. He is impervious to any criticisms from within or without.

Mahathir is not without blame for the rot within the MIC leadership. I remember Samy once proclaiming his mentor as "the King of Kings." That's Samy at his best -always sucking up to his boss like a mandore to his manager . His time has run out.

Hindraf’s allegations untrue, says Karpal

KUALA LUMPUR: Allegations by the Hindu Rights Action Force (Hindraf) that the Government was carrying out ethnic cleansing and had committed atrocities against Indians in Malaysia are baseless and untrue, said lawyer Karpal Singh.

He said he felt surprised that Hindraf leaders would make such charges and hoped that they would be more responsible when uttering such statements.

He said the manner in which Hindraf's rally on Nov 25 was carried out was not right.
