C'mon Abangcina, don't be so cruel. 100 lashings of the whip or cane on the behind should be good enough. And please don't suggest we use the cat o' nine lives.

Like OUTSIDER, I too think that the comment about the treatment of Malays in Singapore was a little below the belt. But coming back to our country, absolutely nothing will improve here unless and until we accept that we made a terrible mistake in relegating the English language in our education system and take steps to reverse this. At Merdeka, we had a system that was on par with the best in the world and in less than a generation it has been all but destroyed.

More important even than politics, unless we go back to English in our entire education system we shall languish as a second or third rate country. There are no two ways about this.

The amok streak against anything Chinese in Tun MBM is in high gear now - nothing is rationale - and I wouldn't dare to punch it lest najis may ooze out from holes. The Arab would say: "The dogs can bark, but the caravan moves on," and I say: "Just let an old dog barks once a while from afar."

There are so many holes one can punch in this article. So I will choose onely one hole to punch into and allow others the opportunity to sock it to MBM.

MBM, you wrote: The Singapore Chinese leaders, their Cambridge and Harvard education notwithstanding, behave no differently than their kin on the mainland; hence the treatment of their Malay minority.

If that's so, how come Malay Singaporeans are not rushing en-masse across the causeway, where they can enjoy NEP privileges? UMNO would welcome them with open arms, give them PRs land citizenships because it would be present BN not only with a public relations exercise to score points but also to run down the "little red dot", that sore pimple whose currency is more than two times stronger than the Malaysian ringgit and who has perenially beaten Malaysia in world rankings for global competitiveness and much else, save for crime rates and corruption.
