Dear Sir,
Malysian authority ,UMNO in particular is practising KLEPTOCRATIC form of governance. Its quite easy if ABB himself took the liberty of practising it without any sense of guilt and in complete denial. He travelled to Japan and decided to critised Samy Vellu from safe distance .

The new building leaking rivers, new computer labs collapsed on sneezing and the major elevated highway buckled by one tonne lorries and bicycle or newbuilt hospital which do fungal plantating as side income ,nothing new.As Samy Vellu said its the act of God.

God had spared us all natural calamities like eartquake and volcanoes and granted us with the goverment that cause calamities ....and we are not talking about raising prices of daily needs yet.

If something can better symbolised the present goverment best...its the new buildings that they built.Esp the High court that leaked rivers and soon a sewage shower on the judges in their chambers....i feel like puking.

I think Mahathir had a devastating effect on most jantans in UMNO. He had them eating humble pie. Tun beat to a pulp most of the people in UMNO that these days hardly anyone dare to raise a dissenting voice. Maybe most of the people in UMNO forgot that Tun is no longer in power. Maybe they need to wake up and realise that AAB is not Tun. Pick a fight, maybe if the fight is well coordinated, AAB could be removed from within.

Say what you want abt Tun, he is a massive and towering figure. Fought off TR Hamzah and gang, Musa Hitam, Anwar and his goons. Then there was the ultimate fight... in the annals of Malay history over 600 years (I counted from days of Malacca), Malays have lived in deference to the Sultans, we worshipped them. Before he came to power, there were 2 classes of Malays, the aristocrats and "pacal yang hina". Now we have reduced the Sultans to University Chancellor with powers only to confer awards.

I really cant recall any time in the history of Malaysia that a leader was so hated that, the opposition with polar opposite objectives decided to forge and alliance and fight one man. And every time they did, they came out on the losing side.

When Tun was in power, you would wake up every morning and find that in newspaper, he would have some issue that needs to be addressed. You have a gut feeling that whatever crisis that the country faces, you can count on him to take us out of it. These days, we wake up with a picture in the newspaper of AAB cutting ribbons, holding babies and what have you. I really miss those days.

I think the last jantan in UMNO or in the country for that matter has since retired.

First of all, another well-written commentary, Dr. Bakri. I think this is the difference between you and many others: we may have the same sentiments and support the same cause, but we cannot articulate them half as well as you are able to. So it is of great benefit to Malaysians at large to have you playing this role.

Now my reaction to lekiu's comment: hatred is a strong word. I think we are not talking about personal hatred here, even though it can indeed develop into that if Pak Lah rules long enough.

I think we are concerned with what is right or wrong rather than who is right or wrong. I for one will not hesitate to give my undivided support to Pak Lah the moment I see him taking meaningful actions on issues that have been long outstanding and overdue. They have been brought up on numerous occasions by numerous people. They are of national importance and many of them concern good governance. As our leader Pak Lah must listen and take the necessary actions.

The flip side of that would be to lose majority support. And that unfortunately would in most cases mean bringing everybody else (the architects and supporters of his policies) down with him.

I feel I am swimming against the tide of popular opinion here, but our hatred for one man shouldn't result in bringing the house down.
