Comments on: HINDRAf, Communitarianism, and Made-in-Malaysia Dilemma http://www.bakrimusa.com/archives/hindraf-communitarianism-and-made-in-malaysia-dilemma Sat, 13 Mar 2010 15:40:24 +0000 http://wordpress.org/?v=2.5.1 By: trublumsian http://www.bakrimusa.com/archives/hindraf-communitarianism-and-made-in-malaysia-dilemma#comment-122201 trublumsian Tue, 11 Dec 2007 22:26:11 +0000 http://www.bakrimusa.com/archives/hindraf-communitarianism-and-made-in-malaysia-dilemma#comment-122201 here's a twist to your commentary. someone once told me that hispanics and african americans in america creates, to a large extend, their own plight. humans, in general, feed off of each other. no, not literally eating, you, mind you! here's what this dude said, in a nutshell: hispanics (who reside in south and mid america) have low expectation of prosperity, loves big clans, work hard at laborious jobs, and drink hard at all occasions. education, social status, and 5th avenue bling is secondary. black americans have a long memory, too long, that they wake up daily to the previous 2 centuries, and remind each other they're where they are today because of servitude america and no matter how you hard you try, you're not white. so quit trying, or you're one of them. does one see that in hindu malaysians? the self-fulling prophecies? the more interesting question is, however, are bumi malaysians feeding off of each other as well? for 50 years, preferential treatment didn't help the poor malays. are they saying, quit working hard, quit the books, pak lahs in the ivory towers never fail to do their rounds of handouts. or are the 5% of rich malays holding 95% of malay wealth feeding off of each others golden goose? afterall, pak lahs on 4th floor never fail to do their rounds of i got your backs? needless to say, chinese malaysians, and in fact, chinese all over the world, feed off of each other that bling bling, and more bling is the goal in life. so, with all the feasting off of each other, and on others, what can a non-pak lah do to make sure another hindraf doesn't happen? revoke their citizenship?
